Before reading this section, please read the 'About' section on the website.   Only once you complete that section should you continue with this page.

This is a primer on the family's do’s, don’ts, how-why’s and wherefores of being a member of the most dynamic monarchy's on the Leafcull server. Read up and make all our lives easier to live with!

Remember, you can succeed in our family.  Your success depends on you and what you do.

And old sage once told me "One person can make a difference.".. You are that person.. you do have a voice in our family.  Speak up, post a message, then follow through via email to council. -- "Rage the Titan"

THINGS TO DO:

REGISTER as a member That will enable you to post there if you feel like doing so. You will be able to read regardless, but anything you wish to say will not be seen monarchy wide without it being on the webpage.  Once you register you can sign up for the quest annoucements, quest team, rescue team and the messageboard.

READ THE FAMILY CONTRACT and MEETING RULES. If you have any questions about these please ask your patron or post on the messageboard.

USE OUR TOOLS.  We have both a messageboard, polling application, quest guides, template & games guides and a calendar.  Use them.  If they are not up to par for what you need, contact the webmaster.

REGISTER FOR THE RESCUE TEAM under your character profile This is not a necessity, but will definitely get you involved in the family and get your name out there as someone to contact for help. Other people know rescue team members who do a good job. We need to respect and admire those on the rescue team for their dedication to a largely underappreciated duty.

FOLLOW THE CHAIN OF COMMAND. You know who your family head is is.

BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT This can be very difficult early on, and you may need seed money to get through…on the other hand, learning how to scrounge for cash is a very necessary part of the game. Begging your patron for cash all the time is not cool, and gets very irritating after awhile, just like if your little brother did it to you. Mages go through cash the fastest, pure melee the least. Learn how and what to loot for cash, it will hold you in good stead your entire career. If you must constantly beg for cash, then be nice enough to start reciprocating…good loot is the way to go, or services above and beyond the call of duty.

KNOW THE TOOLS FROM OUTSIDE THE GAME   This means, go to the links page and put Crossroads of Dereth also known as COD (http://cod.xrgaming.net ) in your favorites, download acExplorer and update it fairly often (1/week is good), and download and use Splitpea. COD has a database where they list every dungeon in the name and coords…you may want to print it out and keep it handy for easy reference. COD also has excellent discussion pages for all kinds of topics if you have questions, on everything from game play to installing good video cards if you do but ask.

KEEP NOTES Yes, write stuff down. You would be amazed how much easier the game is when you can go, ‘lessee, coords for frore standing stones, ah, right here.’ Yes, going to ACExplorer and COD every time is a pain, asking the same question and getting it asked to you is too. If you can’t do a separate piece of paper, then buy a book in-game and type the facts into them, or cut and paste the data. You never lose a book when you die, and its always on you and easy to open up and scribble notes into.

REPUTATION Aelryinth has played the game since the first week of retail., he has made a considerable number of friends. He has high standard of himself and others, and can be extremely competitive. He and his allegiance are here to help you have fun with the game. He has built this family up based on his reputation of following through and completing his part.

MULE WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW AND TRUST Thieves find their way into any monarchy…just because it says our monarch's name doesn’t mean auto trustworthiness. Even level is not an indicator…at least one thief is over level 70, and they enjoy making up new characters all the time. While our monarch's directs are trustworthy, and those Active in the monarchy, make sure you mule and trade with those you know. Don’t trust someone just because they are on a character called ‘StarGrove’s Ox’…make sure you see the main before you help mule, or have trusted witnesses who will agree that is StarGrove’s mule (it’s not). I strongly recommend squelching the accounts of known thieves...that way they cease to exist. Known thieves include Pepin/Commander Nate, Jayhawk, and Lagnafe. There are more, we should have a list of them somewhere. Add ‘em to friends, wait until they come on, and squelch em, and take them off friends. If you hear reports of confirmed thieving/swindling, squelch that account too…not even a new character can trick you now, they will need an entirely new account. Many of these people are reviled by the high levels on the server who remember what they have done…hence they seldom go PK.

WE ARE NOT A PK MONARCHY We do have PK’s, some of them active, but usually it is a spotty thing. Most of the Aelryinth people prefer to have fun exploring, getting loot, and leveling, none of which is easy while PK. PK is a world of its own, and the monarchy’s presence in it is intermittent. On the flip side, those who go PK are enthusiastic and well prepared when they do. Sign up with them if you want to go by posting on the main board and talking to those who reply in-game.

TURN YOUR ACCEPT ALLEGIANCE SWITCH OFF This is how thieves sneak into the monarchy, they do it for kicks. If you need to have it turned on for a vassal to swear to you, its right on the allegiance page, click it on, accept, turn it off.

THE MORE SELF-RELIANT YOU ARE, THE BETTER It’s a given, but people forget it. AC is unique in MMORPG’s that it allows people to do their own thing, it does not force the making of fellowships, hunting with others, etc. While social hunting is good and very profitable, reality means that people seldom have the time to hunt together all the time. Thus, many people get used to hunting alone, doing their own thing, and constant requests for this, that, these, those and the other thing all constitute constant breaks in the game. Sure, you can ask, but asking for something and I want it NOW is rude and ill-mannered…save it for emergencies. Asking for it again and again is wheedling and begging, and makes you look cheap, greedy, and taking advantage of their largesse. Not cool.

TALK TO MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY AND MAKE FRIENDS Friends are good, friends bail you out of tough spots, hunt with you, give you goodies, information, tell jokes, and don’t cost anything but time and typing skills. They make playing the game easy. They lighten the load on everyone by spreading it out. You can be a solo player and still have friends…chatting while you hunt solo is a time honored tradition. The more friends you have, the easier it is to have your problems taken care of and not heaped upon the shoulders of others (fixing it yourselves instead of calling a handyman, as it were…and a handyman you don’t pay, heh)

YOUR FAMILY HAS POWER. We have almost a dozen level100+ players in our family.  Aelryinth is the most power PvM Swordmaster in the game; John Doh is the kickass Life/UA combo. Eternal Thug, Photius, Hizzab and Damon II are our main goon squad. There's also Czarina, Rage the Titan, Ice Cold, Nicola Tesla, Shadow Menace, Ministry, Elaith, and Brandish. We also have self-contained services for cooking, alchemy, fletching. Our allegiance friends include Sly, Tex, Thase, Semiramis, Nickolas II and Roark.

This is your family --  Be proud of it and of who you are. Cool people make the game cool…be one of them.
