Frest Greevling's Mansion Index
Proceed to Frest Greevling's Mansion (6.5N 44E) and find him stranded outside (6N 43.7E) at a loss of what to do. He will give you his journal and ask that you retrieve some items for him and try and do something about his unwanted house guests.
Enter the mansion and find three chests belonging to Frest Greevling. Inside these chests you will find a "Frest Greelving's Puffy Shirt", "Frest Greelving's Emerald", and "Frest Greelving Antique Platter". While inside the mansion, a mysterious Zombie in the upper tower carries an odd note called "An Old Chronicle", but you cannot understand the language it is written in.
Return to Frest Greevling outside and give him these items.
In exchange for the Puffy Shirt:
Frest Greelving tells you, "Thank you, yes, that is my favorite puffy shirt! Here is your reward."
Frest Greelving gives you 3,000 Pyreals.
In exchange for the Emerald:
Frest Greelving tells you, "Thank you, you retrieved my precious emerald! Here is your reward."
You've earned 3000 experience.
In exchange for the Antique Platter:
Frest Greelving tells you, "Thank you, that is my antique platter! Here is your reward."
You've earned 4000 experience.
Finally, when you give him the Old Chronical Note...
Frest Greelving tells you, "Ah, you found something. An ancient document... Perhaps it may explain this haunting."
Frest Greelving tells you, "Hmm, I believe the document is written in Yalaini. If you take it to Bretself the Translator who resides in Cragstone, he should be able to translate it for you. Please bring it back to me when it is translated."
Follow his advice and get it translated by Bretself the Translator in Cragstone (26N 47E).
Bretself the Translator tells you, "This is an ancient chronicle, writtin in Yalaini. It is a frightening tale. If this is truth and not some fiction, there are things in this world that are best left alone to slumber in their black depths..."
Bretself the Translator gives you Chronicle of Archeological Site Celadon.
Return with this new lengthy tome to Frest Greevling.
Frest Greelving tells you, "The translated version. So, it truly was written in Yalaini!"
Frest Greelving tells you, "Have you read this already? This chronicle of terror chills my soul."
Frest Greelving shudders
Frest Greelving tells you, "Alas, it appears my gripe is with the Arcanum builders who constructed the mansion here. This ground is cursed and perhaps should not be inhabited. Yet, perhaps you may be able to do something to stop the horror that grips this place. I understand now that it comes from beneath the mansion. There is... something... down there. If you can eliminate this terror I would reward you."
Frest Greelving tells you, "I now give you permission to enter my mansion dungeon. Here is the key to the chamber where the portal is, you already know why I secured it. Take good care."

Proceed into the Mansion and into the Dungeon portal below. Unlock the door using the Portal Chamber Key (or lockpick it, diff 500) and enter the Mansion Dungeon Portal (quest restricted, so you must have done the preceeding to enter.)
Once inside, you will find a large amount of Undead and Skeleton Warriors. You will also find that one of the walls in a corner of the dungeon has a large hole in it leading down into the dark depths. Enter this hole and eventually you will find a Dark Sarcophagus (following the right wall works well) while fighting through Lichs and Undead and Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Captains and even a new creature, the Skeleton Wraith.
You will find that you cannot do damage to this Sarcophagus, so there must be another approach. Continue through the dungeon a |
