Quest Walkthrough
QuestID:  90 Add-on:  2/20/2002 8:12:50 AM
Goal/Purpose:  Obsidian Dagger/Barbed Fletching Tool/Skull of Averon Palacost Difficulty:  3      (1 low/10 high)
Information:
Obsidian Dagger/Barbed Fletching Tool/Skull of Averon Palacost
Mike HeXt of Morningthaw

Prerequisites:
Lvl 15-30

Recommendations:
You will need some experienced warriors/mages. Some people have even tried to Buff up their lowbie chars fully with 7's and tried to RUN through the quest. This doesn't work. The enemies pile on top of you and will kill you, even if its with lag. You will need full attention, time and Teamwork. If you do this right you can do it with a minimum of 6 people. It is good to have a decent group of people levels 20-30, since 15-19 usually have low low jump and fall in the acid pits. Bring many death items (available at the Mayoi master mage (Portal gems/robes), and health potions and the like. Most of the enemies are vulnerable to fire/blade. Archers always bring plenty of Fire/Slash arrows. I suggest a Jump skill of about 190 buffed.. If not more. And finally Patients is the key, If one of your team mates lags off, wait for them to come back.

Monsters:
Lich, Risen Soldiers, Lich Lords, and Risen Knights

On entry:
The Empyrean Cloister Portal is 23.4s 05.8e. The closest town to this dungeon is Yaraq. Which is a dropoff from the Arwic Abandoned Mines (Sub/Hub). The entrance is safe as long as nobody enters the first hallway and alerts the liches.

Navigation:
Start the quest in a fellowship, One fellow of Lowers, with the higher's leader in it. And Visa/versa. That way there is a contact for each side in the group (assuming the fellow is too big). It starts by entering the dungeon, You will be at a dropoff in the dungeon, If everyone stays in that initial room its pretty safe. There are 2 liches in that hallway. One is in front of the Surface portal, the other is in the hallway to the main quest in itself. If someone moves into the hallway they will initiate attacking so be careful Have your group Buff their weapons up and buff their armor for slashing/piercing/blunt damage. Put on all protects because liches/lich lords/the boss characters use a lot of magic. Then when you're group is ready Start off through the Left pathway. Remember, when you're looking for what way to go, If you get separated from your group, follow the loot trail. If you can't figure out the way to go at a 4 way stop, Lich Lords usually mean you're going the right way. And finally, The lower you go the better. Its pretty much a one way shot till you get to the part with the drop. Find your way down into the room where to your left and right there are 2 holes in the floor to the next hallway below. Here you will see a lich in front of you and behind you in the distance. Have an archer pick them off and avoid spells thrown at you.

One this room is cleared, move into the room with the drop, you will see a surface portal below. This is you're rebuff point. Buff up all over again. Have a mage imperil/vuln the enemies below. When all are ready, jump down and be ready to defend your very lives. Once you are all down, and fighting, be weary, Do Not chase the soldiers, They chase people and end up dragging you into the surface portal. Once this room is clear you should head into the west hallway, there should be a path to the next hallway guarded by a lich lord usually, This means you are going the right way.

Phase Two:
Make your way down to the path with 2 portals, One says Upper one Lower. The Lower portal is the 15-25, the other is 20-30, It is suggested that You rebuff here. When all are ready, send the people that need to DOWNLOAD the new portion of the dungeon first, that way the risen soldiers/or knights will target them and be swinging at basically Thin air. When the downloading people are about 90% Downloaded, send the main group in. Higher's will have to deal with risen knights/Liches. The lowers will have to deal with Liches and Risen Soldiers. It is great experience points and training for lower le
