Goal/Purpose:  The Scalpel is 6-12 Slashing/Piercing, 30 BU, 8420 value, 1 speed, 110 diff, casts Dagger Mastery 6 and Coordination 6 and is giveable/droppable/buffable. It ignores life protections, but not armor banes. Difficulty:  10      (1 low/10 high)

The Loot:
The Scalpel is 6-12 Slashing/Piercing, 30 BU, 8420 value, 1 speed, 110 diff, casts Dagger Mastery 6 and Coordination 6 and is giveable/droppable/buffable. It ignores life protections, but not armor banes.

Recommendations:
You'll want lvl 7 spells because of the potentially long camping time once inside.In the dungeon, bane Acid, Piercing, Slashing, and Bludgeoning. Use all prots. 350+ buffed Lockpick skill & Superb or better picks

On entry:
To enter, you need the Habitat Portal Gem that the Virindi Collector drops (he is an extremely rare random spawn on the Marescent Plateau of Marael Lassel). The portal gem summons a no-tie, no-recall portal and lasts 1 minute. The drop point is safe, and you can buff once inside.

Navigation:
Once buffed, head straight down, and through the door to the right. Keep going down until you get to a small room with 3 doors leading into a larger room. Stay in the small room. There are 4 Virindi Observers straight ahead of you in the larger room. One of the Observers will cast a portal upon death, but it's not a 100% chance. You may spend several lvl 7 buffs there waiting for the right Observer to spawn. The respawn is about 5 minutes. You should stay inside the small room at all times because of the heavy debuffs coming from the Virindi Execs and Observers directly above you. Olthoi will also respawn behind you and in the larger room, so keep your banes up.

Phase Two:
Once the Virindi Observer dies and casts his portal, it'll take you to the room above you in the same dungeon. The drop is camped by Executors and Observers, kill these as fast as possible (most deaths occur here). After they're dispatched, go down one of the ramps on either side of the portal energy room. They lead to the Habitat Troves. There are 2 troves, and they each spawn the scalpel pieces (good for large groups). The Virindi respawn in the Trove rooms is pretty fast (2-3 minutes). The Habitat Troves are unenchantable (no weaken lock) so make sure your LP is buffed. Once picked, grab the Flimsy Hilt and Glittering Blade pieces. The respawn on the Trove is about 2-3 minutes.

Phase Three:
Once everyone has the scalpel pieces, it's safe to recall. Pop a dispell gem or wait for your debuffs to expire, and get level 7 buffs before you try to combine the pieces. You need at least 350 dagger skill to attempt (with any skill check, there is a chance you will succeed with lower skill, and a chance you will fail with a higher skill). There is a quest timer on it (ballpark figure is 3 weeks) but the exact length isn't known as of yet.
