un-imbued Asteliary Orb requires an Arcane Lore of 190 and a Mana Conversion skill of at least 150 to use. It casts Focus Self IV, Mana Conversion Mastery Self V, and Willpower Self IV.
After using the Asteliary Gem on the Asteliary Orb, the orb is transformed into the Imbued Asteliary Orb. It now requires an Arcane Lore of 230 and a Mana Conversion skill of 180 to use. It casts Focus Self V, Mana Conversion Mastery Self VI, and Willpower Self V.
Quest Summary
Hie yourself to The Asteliary (10.2S, 17.5E). This lies an easy run directly south of Samsur. Enter the Dungeon (see restrictions above) and make your way deep inside. Encounter and dispatch new enemies: Simulacra. Once you reach the end you encounter The Crafter. Kill this human-like enemy and receive your rewards!

Consider buffing before entry. While the entry point is safe, immediately beyond spawn a trio of Drudge Raveners. If the adventurers who entered immediately before you do rush blindly forward they will encounter the Raveners -- and may retreat to the entry room (as it contains a portal to the surface). Don't be there when they retreat!
Most of the enemies inside cast Level V and VI war spells.
Navigating through the Dungeon is fairly simple. First, fight your way generally southward, passing through two large rooms. (Beware the Raveners that spawn). Heading south, pass a room on your left containing a Ravener. The corridor then turns at a sharp right angle to the west. As you come to a T intersection turn left (south), then left again (east) at the next T.
If you turn the wrong way at either of these intersections you will travel in a roughly circular fashion, passing rooms of spawns in corridors that occur on the outer portion of the circle. Don't despair! Exit this 'ring of death' at the southeast of the circle, taking the corridor east.
The dungeon corridor will now wind back to the south and up a ramp. Congratulations! You are approximately 1/3 of the way to your objective. Beware the top of the ramp, and consider buffing before going any further. At the top, in a large room, you will encounter three of the enemies introduced in the September 2001 Patch, Keep Your Enemies Closer. The usual spawn in this room is two Sneaky Simulacrums (Level 33) and a single Subtle Simulacrum (Level 60).
After dispatching these enemies, you must continue south; however, the exits from this room are only to the east and west. Warning: you will encounter several rooms in succession, some with Simulacra, some with Drudge Raveners.
You have two choices, east or west. The way to continue is similar in each case. (A) If you choose to continue east, you encounter a room ('ware the enemy!). Exit south to another room (etc.!), then west. Or, (B) Similarly, continue west, then south, then east.
Your next destination room will find these two paths converging from the east and west, with the south exit down a Ramp. Congratulations! You are now 2/3 of the way to your objective.
Move down the ramp cautiously, as a Virindi Servant spawns ahead in a room with four exits. You may dispatch the Virindi; alternatively, you may avoid the room by taking corridors that circle the room. In either case, you should exit this area to either the west or east. (The south exit also leads to the end; however, some players feel that this way lie more difficult spawns. -- Ed.).
